Job summary

American Iron and Metals Company (AIM) is seeking a Crane Operator to join the Venier team's yard operations in our Ontario facility. This hands-on role centers on operating the crane and other heavy equipment to support the full flow of materials.

You will sort metals, unload and route materials, verify quality, and work outdoors in a collaborative team setting. A Class 5 license and scrap/recycling experience are valued, with safety as a top priority.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment (crane, loader, or equivalent).
• Comfortable in a physical outdoor environment.
• Team player with adaptability to changing priorities.
• Strong focus on occupational health and safety.
• Proactive, field-oriented attitude.
• Class 5 driver's license is essential.
• Experience in a scrap yard or recycling is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate the crane and participate in yard activities.

Job Description

We are looking for aCrane Operatorwho enjoys hands-on fieldwork and does not want to be limited to a single machine.

In this role, you will be at the heart of our Venier team's yard operations and will actively participate in the full flow of materials. You will operate the crane, as well as other heavy equipment as the day's needs require (loader, forklift, etc.).

This position is highly versatile, active, and physically demanding. The work also includes manual metal sorting and physical outdoor work, in addition to equipment operation. A large portion of the tasks takes place in the field, on the move, in collaboration with the team.

What you will be responsible for:

• Operating the crane and participating in general yard activities;
• Sorting and identifying metals (testing, magnets, etc.) and assessing non-sellable materials;
• Receiving, unloading, and routing metals to the appropriate areas;
• Verifying the quality of materials received and handled;
• Transporting and organizing non-ferrous material bins on site;
• Using various equipment (crane, loader, forklift as needed);
• Loading ferrous products destined for customers;
• Performing manual tasks related to daily operations (sorting, handling, and organizing materials).

Qualifications
