We are seeking a crane operator to safely transport loads to construction sites using lifting equipment such as cranes and hoists. You will work closely with construction workers and ground operators to complete your daily duties. To succeed in this role, you should have hands-on experience with cranes and building materials. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential, enabling you to adapt to different weather conditions and settings.

Work Setting:

Parks, roadways, recreation sites, landscape contractors, sports fields, private residences.

Responsibilities
  1. Operate cranes and hoists safely according to manufacturer guidelines.
  2. Responsible for assembly, disassembly, lifts, and movements of cranes.
  3. Perform pre-operational inspections, safety checks, test lifts, and load chart calculations.
  4. Calculate crane capacities and weights to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
  5. Load, unload, and securely fasten cargo as required.
  6. Inspect equipment and machinery to ensure safety and certification.
  7. Maintain and update maintenance and activity logs.
  8. Coordinate with ground operators and interpret hand and verbal signals.
  9. Follow safety guidelines and protocols.
  10. Assist in mobilization and demobilization of equipment.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 3 years of experience operating a crane.
  2. Journeyman Mobile Crane certificate is an asset.
  3. Valid Class 1 or 3 license is required.
  4. Commitment to health and safety programs with a proactive approach to safety.
  5. Meticulous accuracy and keen attention to detail.
  6. Strong communication skills.
