Job description

Join to apply for the Loader Operator role at Radius Recycling.

Contribute to the production team to ensure goals are met safely and efficiently while conforming to company policies. Process vehicles in a safe manner to produce core & scrap products, enable the customers to pull parts, and satisfy environmental requirements. This position primarily focuses on Front Loader operation and various material handling duties.

Essential Functions

1. Operation of a Front Loader, Crusher, Fork Lift or Skid Steer: Move vehicles, cores, scrap, and other material safely through the yard. Ensure that loads are positioned and placed securely. Use various tool attachments to segregate and dismantle light passenger vehicles.
2. Maintenance of equipment: Perform pre-operation checks and inspections/cleaning as prescribed in the certification course.

Additional Duties

• Degarbage: Remove Freon, fluids, batteries, and other items as prescribed.
• Drain: Remove gasoline, coolant, waste oil, catalytic converters, etc., as prescribed.
• Set & Pull: Prepare vehicles for customer access, remove vehicles, and clean the area.
• Field Decore, Ground Decore, Table Decore, Tire Dismantling, Janitor, and Miscellaneous tasks: As detailed, following safety and environmental procedures.

Physical Activities

• Standing, walking, bending, climbing, stretching in weather conditions.
• Sitting for extended periods.
• Handling tools and moving up to 50 pounds.
• Operating equipment with good hand-eye coordination and vision.

Job Conditions

• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
• Periodic chemical hazards.

Qualifications

• Ability to wear PPE and follow safety practices.
• Follow instructions and safety messages.
• Complete safety and environmental training.
• Work hours including weekends and holidays.
• Work in extreme weather conditions.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain a valid PNP Certification for operating a Front Loader and Forklift.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with heavy equipment, automotive repair, or dismantling.
• Experience with automotive parts or retail customers.
• Bilingual in English & Spanish.
