Job description

Position Summary

The primary function of the Crane Operator will be to assist in moving and lifting piping & equipment necessary for fabrication support as well as module construction. The operator will also perform various ground labor duties when not operating the crane.

PROJECT DETAILS

• Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station
• Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project)
• Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off
• Travel pay: $400/shift
• Camp retention: $25/day

Core Accountabilities

• Operate cranes (18-ton Carry Deck - 160 Ton RT) to lift, move, and position equipment and materials.
• Perform pre-operational inspections, calculate crane capacities, and prepare for rigging and hoisting.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubrication.
• Assist other tradesmen with their duties as required.
• Perform other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• Valid Journeyperson Crane Operator certificate with at least two years of experience.

Experience

• Industrial project operation experience.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of construction methods, techniques, labor requirements, and their application in industrial projects.
• Proactive in task completion to ensure safety, efficiency, and productivity.

Safety Tickets Required

• CSTS 2020 or CSO
• Bear or Wildlife Awareness course
• WHMIS 2015 (training provided during onboarding)
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) (training provided during onboarding)
