Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary function of the Crane Operator will be to assist in moving and lifting piping & equipment necessary for fabrication support as well as module construction. Additionally, the operator will perform various labour duties on the ground when not operating the crane.

PROJECT DETAILS

  • Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station
  • Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project)
  • Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off
  • Travel pay: $400/shift
  • Camp retention: $25/day

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Operate cranes to lift, move, position, or place equipment and materials (18-ton Carry Deck - 160 Ton RT)
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and calculate crane capacities and weights for rigging and hoisting
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubrication
  • Assist other tradesmen as needed
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Valid Journeyperson Crane Operator certificate and minimum of two years of experience

Experience

  • Experience operating cranes in industrial projects

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of construction methods, techniques, labour requirements, and their application in industrial projects
  • Proactive in seeking and completing tasks to ensure safety, efficiency, and productivity

Safety Tickets Required

  • CSTS 2020 or CSO
  • Bear or Wildlife Awareness course
  • WHMIS 2015 (training available during onboarding)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) (training available during onboarding)
