CPA Ontario seeks a proactive Standards Enforcement Officer on a 12-month contract to lead investigations into allegations of professional misconduct and apply forensic accounting expertise to complex regulatory matters. The role reports to the Vice-President, Complaints and Investigations, and supports the Professional Conduct Committee.

Qualifications

• CPA designation and post-secondary degree required; professional credentials are assets.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in public accounting or regulatory/compliance environments.
• Experience leading forensic accounting engagements and strong judgment.
• Excellent written reports, recommendations, and complex issue analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead preliminary investigations into complaints of professional misconduct and gather evidence.
• Serve as technical accounting and assurance expert throughout investigations.
• Analyze materials, conduct research, and plan risk-based investigations.
• Prepare investigative reports and briefing materials for decision-makers.
• Present findings to the Professional Conduct Committee and answer inquiries.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and cross-functional regulatory priorities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to advance regulatory and operational goals.
