Job summary

The City of Thunder Bay seeks a detail‑oriented Data Entry Clerk to support the City Manager’s Office. You will perform data entry, clerical and court support duties and provide counter service for Provincial Offences Act matters in a full‑time role.

Expect travel to court locations and balance of receipts. Qualifications include Grade 12, two years of court or legal experience, knowledge of the POA, strong English communication, and a valid Ontario driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Minimum grade 12 education.
  • Two years’ court or legal experience.
  • Knowledge of the Provincial Offences Act and Regulations.
  • Courteous and tactful in dealing with the public, police and judiciary.
  • Proficient written and oral English.
  • Valid Class “G” Ontario Driver's Licence or equivalent.
  • Intermediate keyboarding; basic word processing and basic online data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform customer service duties and cashier functions for POA matters.
  • Handle court administration including mail, scheduling, data entry and court attendance as clerk.
  • Process, transfer and file POA documentation per rules and guidelines.
  • Prepare and manage POA court dockets and related records.
  • Balance receipts over the counter and by mail; assist Payment Processing Clerk as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
