Job summary

Wolseley Canada is seeking a backfill sales support role in Hamilton, Ontario. You will assess job requirements, ensure stock availability, and help move orders from quote to delivery.

The position offers CAD 50,000–55,000 plus a 4% bonus, with full benefits for full-time staff and opportunities to grow within a leading wholesale distributor of plumbing, HVAC/R, waterworks and industrial products. Fluency in both French and English would be an asset.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two (2) years or more related experience in the industry.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driver abstract is required.
• Dedicated to meeting customer expectations and improving products/services.
• Able to negotiate effectively with internal and external groups; maintains relationships.
• Fluency in both French and English would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assess job requirements and ensure stock availability as scheduled.
• Complete the order process with pricing terms and generate sales orders.
• Prepare small quotes for urgent contracting jobs when needed.
• Provide product knowledge to customers and perform catalog searches.
• Process orders to completion and confirm delivery details with customers.
• Notify Sales or Purchasing of low stock or inventory discrepancies.
• Overtime as required.

What You'll Do

• Assesses the requirements of the job.
• Ensures stock availability as scheduled.
• Completes the order process which includes offering pricing terms according to established margins; souring of additional products; and generating sales orders.
• He/she is also responsible for preparing small order quotes on urgent contracting jobs.
• Offers product knowledge to customers.
• Performs necessary product research in catalogues and on internet.
• Offers alternative stock or non-stock items depending on specifications.
• Processes orders to completion and verifies with a generated computer ticket to ensure acceptance of the order.
• Confirms details of delivery according to scheduled times and commitment dates.
• Verifies all items are available for the customer as scheduled and obtains stocking information off the system to determine causes for discrepancies.
• Notifies Sales Representative or the Purchasing department of low stock or errors in the inventory count.
• Overtime as required.

What You'll Bring

• Fluency in both French and English would be an asset.
