Job summary

Dixon Electric in Vaughan, Ontario is seeking a proactive Counter Sales/ Warehouse Associate to support customers with product selections, process sales orders, and assist with warehouse duties. You will help maintain displays, manage inventory, and provide excellent service in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has experience in sales order entry, strong customer service skills, and knowledge of electrical products.

Qualifications

  • Experience entering and processing sales orders accurately.
  • Ability to assist customers in selecting products and upsell when appropriate.
  • Familiarity with inventory, warehousing and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and process customer sales orders accurately.
  • Assist customers in selecting products and propose alternatives.
  • Locate and pick orders as needed for fulfillment.
  • Handle overflow sales calls and support the counter team.
  • Maintain merchandise displays and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Assist with cycle counts and documentation clearance.
  • Lead by example in product knowledge and customer service.
  • Coordinate schedules and workload for counter staff and warehouse team.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Enter sales orders for product(s) selected by the customer and ensuring all materials have been entered accordingly and documentation is complete within the close of sale
  • Assist customers with identifying the specific product they are looking for based on their requirements and suggest alternatives if required and/or up-selling of related product(s)
  • If required, physically locate/pick order once product order has been finalized
  • Assists with overflow sales calls as required
  • Assist branch champion to ensure all merchandise products, including displays, are properly maintained
  • Ensure all cycle counts are completed by self and counter/warehouse team
  • Make sure that all returns are completed in a timely manner after Manager has addressed any issues and signed off
  • Support counter and warehouse team by providing leadership in regards to product knowledge and customer service levels
  • Work with counter/warehouse team to ensure all processes are being followed to minimize inventory loss and provide efficient service to our customers
  • Keep all paperwork in order
  • Ensure counter/warehouse team follow all Occupational Health and Safety requirements
  • Coordinate break and lunch times for all warehouse staff, ensuring all positions and times are covered
  • Recommend work schedules, as required, to provide superior customer service
  • Coordinate counter staff workload and prioritize processing of orders
  • Responsible to maintain gondola sections. Counter staff to perform task during down time.
  • Make sure and assist in keeping branch clean and organized, notifying Manager of maintenance requirements
  • Identify personnel issues and notify management
  • Recommend solutions to issues that may affect the service, efficiency and productivity of the branch
  • Encourage a team environment through leadership actions
  • Trains all counter staff on work processes and procedures related to counter work, product part numbers and customer service standards
  • Performs warehouse duties applicable to the other designated areas as required
  • Other duties as required
Education & Training:
  • High school diploma required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, WISL freight system and SX system
  • BCIT Course in Basic Electricity or equivalent experience required
