Job summary

Dixon Electric, a Sonepar company, is seeking a forklift operator to join our Ontario team. You will perform pre-shift inspections, order picking, stock placement, and help maintain safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Must possess forklift operation competency and safety awareness.
• Experience with warehouse stocking and order-picking processes is preferred.
• WHMIS and first aid knowledge are considered assets.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-shift forklift inspections and battery maintenance.
• Maintain safety standards while operating the forklift.
• Report unsafe conditions and assist with general cleanliness of the work area.
• Perform order picking and stock put-away according to location and type.
• Support re-certification training for forklift operation as required.

Major Responsibilities

• Completing the Pre-shift inspection for forklift, including battery maintenance.
• Maintaining safety compliance when operating the forklift.
• Reporting any unsafe work conditions that might occur.
• Order picking.
• Putting stock away in appropriate locations.
• Stocking empty reels.
• Processing orders as they are received.
• Ensuring correct cable is cut to order requirements.
• Assisting with general cleaning of work environment.
• Participating in re-certification for forklift operation, as required.

Education, Training, and work experience required:

• High School Diploma required.
• First Aid Certification preferred.
• WHMIS Certification preferred.
