Job summary

The Town of Whitby is seeking a Supervisor of Corporate Security to lead and administer the security program protecting staff, visitors and Town assets. You will develop policies, oversee security operations, and manage budgets in collaboration with Town departments and external partners.

You will conduct investigations, coordinate with law enforcement, and ensure incidents are documented and resolved. Strong leadership, communication, and knowledge of security practices are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Requires university degree in Criminology, Business Admin, Criminal Justice or Emergency Management.
• Valid security licence and CPTED/EM/ICS certifications or equivalent training preferred.
• Five+ years of security leadership experience and knowledge of Canadian law and public safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Manager to develop and implement a centralized security program for Town staff, customers and assets.
• Direct, coordinate and monitor day-to-day security operations and contracted services.
• Develop, monitor and evaluate a Town-wide Security Program with interdepartmental engagement.
• Ensure proper documentation, investigation and closure of security incidents, including post-event analysis.
