As the province’s largest energy provider with more than 100 years of knowledge and experience, we proudly deliver renewable energy, natural gas, electricity, and propane to 1.3 million customers.

We're actively seeking new talent to join our mission of transforming B.C.'s energy landscape. As one of BC's Top Employers with a diverse team of over 2,700 employees, we are committed to a safe and inclusive culture where each of us can connect, belong, and grow. Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.

Position Overview

You have a keen eye for detail, demonstrated by your strong financial acumen and analytical skills. Your drive for growth, learning, and continuous improvement makes you an invaluable asset in propelling our business forward.

As a corporate finance and treasury manager, you will be involved in both the treasury and the corporate finance side of our business and will report to the manager, corporate development and treasury. On the treasury side, you will support a variety of treasury and credit risk processes including rating agency reviews, counterparty credit reviews, cash management, and sustainable finance solutions. This position also focuses on corporate finance, where you’ll be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial models to support business investment decisions.

So, if you're ready to roll up your sleeves and make a real impact, join us in transforming B.C.’s energy future.

In this role, you will:
  • Work with a variety of teams across the organization to learn about our business areas and regulatory environment. You’ll learn how they impact analysis and decisions around investment opportunities that will support you as you prepare meaningful financial analysis and forecasts.
  • Be responsible for a number of treasury tasks including reviewing credit rating agency models, preparing covenant compliance documents, and assisting with cash management.
  • Perform credit risk analysis for counterparties in energy supply, renewable and low carbon fuels, and major capital projects, and make impactful recommendations.
  • Be a major contributor to the creation of financial models while following best-practice techniques for various business development projects including new and emerging business opportunities such as potential investment opportunities in hydrogen, solar, wind, and renewable gas projects. Additionally, you will conduct ad hoc research and create presentation materials for management and stakeholders.
What it takes:
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, or business administration from an accredited university, plus a professional financial designation (CPA) and two years of recent and relevant experience in accounting, corporate finance, treasury, financial planning and analysis, or investment banking.
  • CFA or CBV designation, or desire to pursue CFA or CBV designation is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education, related training, and experience may be considered.
  • A demonstrated ability in understanding financial statements and accounting principles to assist you in preparing key analyses.
  • Strong prioritization skills that enable you to handle multiple tasks across various areas of corporate finance and treasury.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as you develop and strengthen strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the business and industry.

In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
