Position Summary:
407 ETR is looking for a Communications Advisor to join its Communications and Government Relations team to lead communications strategies and projects for internal audiences. The successful candidate must be a well-rounded and multi-faceted communicator who is at ease writing and designing print and digital content for various outputs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads day-to-day internal communications program; identifies trends and opportunities for improvement, builds campaign plans and tracks results against departmental KPIs.
- Leads the production of internal events and town halls; drafting speaking remarks, building presentations, and coordinating logistics as required.
- Applies creativity and strategic problem solving to serve internal clients and builds communications strategies to meet corporate objectives.
- Represents the department on various internal working groups as required; develops communications plans and products which may include CEO communications, scriptwriting, filming and editing and committee-specific newsletters.
- Leads the communications planning and execution for cross-functional, strategic projects such as intranet redesign.
- Responsible for keeping internal communications channels current, including ongoing maintenance and governance of the intranet, poster boards, etc.
- Produces multi-media content such as videos, intranet articles, LinkedIn posts, digital signage.
- Develops engaging PowerPoint presentations for shareholder and stakeholder presentations.
- Works with third-party vendors as required to ensure creative materials are delivered on time and within budget.
- The successful candidate must have superior time management skills and demonstrated experience in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Journalism or Business. Post-graduate certificate in PR or Communications an asset.
- 5-7 years of experience in a corporate communications or agency role.
- Strong copywriting and editing skills. Knowledge of CP Style required.
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Energetic, proactive and team player.
- Knowledge of best practices for internal communications in a post-pandemic world.
- Ability to build and maintain an internal network across the company.
- Adobe Creative Cloud – including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Proficient in Canva.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Practical knowledge of modern web standards, user experience, and user interface design principles and best practices considered an asset.
- Experience supporting diversity and inclusion communications strategies considered an asset.
