The Opportunity:
WSP Global is seeking a Financial Controller, Corporate Accounting to join our team in a permanent, full-time capacity. Reporting to the Director, Finance, this role plays a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and transparency of financial statements by providing analytical support for head office reporting, budgeting, and financial forecasting. The Controller will oversee the end-of-period process and provide key support to the tax department.

What you can expect to do here:
- Provide analytical and consolidation support to WSP’s Financial Services team.
- Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts to ensure period-end accuracy.
- Analyze profit and loss statements to identify budget variances and record necessary provisions.
- Conduct monthly foreign exchange gain/loss analysis for accounting, tax, and management purposes.
- Develop and implement tools and strategies to transform raw data into actionable financial insights.
- Reconcile and validate inter-company financial transactions across global locations.
- Prepare and produce financial reports essential for consolidation.
- Support the tax department with financial analyses for tax provisions and reports.
- Collaborate on special projects with key business units, including financial performance, inter-company billing, insurance, and internal audit.
- Supervising a single analyst to support with various tasks.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- University degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting.
- Strong technical, analytical, and systems proficiency, with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with Oracle ERP systems (an asset).
- Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail.
- Outstanding organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Bilingual (English and French)—additional language proficiency is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively engage with international stakeholders.
