The opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists in our Health and Safety department within the Metals division for a Coordinator, Safety located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. The Coordinator, Safety will provide central administrative support to internal teams, playing a key role in coordinating and facilitating ongoing safety-related projects and events.

In This Role, You Will Be Accountable For

  • Preparing and distributing regular OHS statistics reports to support departmental safety strategies.
  • Leading the development and maintenance of the Safety SharePoint site, ensuring document control, compliance, and accessibility.
  • Managing and organizing safety documentation, including policies, procedures, training KPIs, and technical manuals.
  • Coordinating departmental inventory and purchasing activities in line with budget guidelines.
  • Supporting training coordination and assisting with the implementation of internal safety audits.
  • Evaluating and recommending improvements to safety reporting tools and processes.
  • Verifying supplier and contractor invoicing and managing purchase requisitions through the EAM system.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement by supporting best practices and operational efficiency.

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration, with Health & Safety Administrator (HSA) designation.
  • Proven experience working with regulatory bodies, industry standards, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful business insights.
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, public speaking, and presentation.
  • Effective time management with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Skilled in professional document development and formatting.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and the ability to work independently and influence others.
