Job description

Be part of building a national brand. Headquartered in Toronto, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is a national, private, not-for-profit organization committed to high-performance sports excellence. We are the largest private supporter of high-performance sport in Canada and we are responsible for all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including the participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games.

Reporting to the Account Manager, Marketing Partnerships, the Coordinator, Marketing Partnerships is responsible for supporting all aspects of Partner relations including program development, approvals, client servicing and administration. Additional areas of responsibility will include Partnership Cross Functional work and support the Commercial Affairs team as outlined below.

LOCATION

This role will be located in one of the COC’s offices (in Montreal, QC, at 500 René-Lévesque Boulevard West; or in Toronto, ON at 250 Yonge St. Suite 3000). We offer a hybrid work model that allows for up to two days of remote work each week.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES

Partner Servicing

  • Responsible for a portfolio of partners inclusive of: partner owned campaign support and partner integration into Team Canada assets.
  • Responsible for portfolio of partner’s budgets
  • Assist in the development, execution and administration of partner programs from Supplier to Premier National Partners which leverage their involvement with the Canadian Olympic Team
  • Support the approvals process for Partner marks usage and activation plan, and work closely with the Partner to ensure they have the tools to maximize their brand association rights
  • Assist the Marketing Partnerships team to establish a detailed service plan that supports and enhances Partner programs and delivers against their contractual rights and benefits

Partnership Cross Functional

  • Act as the recording administrator in partnerships meetings, as required, and note / communicate follow-up items with/for the attendees
  • Ensure electronic filing system is up-to-date, efficient, and readily accessible
  • Oversee the department’s 23104 budget task code and manage all related expenses
  • Support Gifting Program for internal COC stakeholders and manage process for external Partners
  • Provide support for Partner Programs (e.g. Petro-Canada Fueling Athlete & Coaching Excellence)
  • Lead the logistics and coordination of COC Partner Engagement events including Partner Summit and other department events
  • Lead, and keep accurately updated, the Partner contact database
  • Responsible for centralized communications with Partners and distribute Partner communications and events calendar internally
  • Support the team’s efforts in Partner renewal and new business development processes
  • Support Partner Recognition Program

Commercial Affairs

  • Assist the Commercial Affairs team as required (e.g. MP Approvals process in coordination with the broader MP Account team)
  • Manage the approval process for all Portfolio Partner marks use and activation plans
  • Other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Sport Business, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of proven marketing experience within sponsorship and/or sports marketing

Skills and Abilities

  • Passionate about sport from grassroots to high performance
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated best in class client service experience
  • Curiosity for and desire to learn more about the business of sport, and about the business challenges Partner companies face across various industries
  • An affinity for building strong relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills. Bilingualism (French, English) is an asset
  • Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and deploy resources in areas that have greatest positive impact on results
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Strong balance between attention to detail and the bigger picture
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with various internal and external colleagues/stakeholders
  • Digital/social media familiarity, experience with platforms an asset
  • Strong computer software expertise required, including Power Point, Word, Excel, Outlook
