Job summary

The Diplomat Restaurant in Fredericton, NB invites applications for a Cook to join our team. We offer a friendly, hardworking kitchen focused on great food and a positive atmosphere for both staff and guests.

Position is full-time, 30–40 hours per week, with starting wage of $17.75 hourly. Extended medical benefits become available after 180 days of continuous employment; equity-friendly, welcoming diverse candidates including Indigenous applicants.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience as a Cook.
• High School Diploma.
• Familiar with industry best practices.
• Strong leadership abilities.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
• Follow direction and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat).
• Prepare and cook complete meals to the specifications of the Diplomat or client wishes.
• May clean kitchen and work area.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
• Oversee kitchen operations.
• Monitor stock and place orders if required.
• Meets with customers to ensure a great meal experience.
• Other duties as required.

Term of employment: 30h to 40h per week – full time – permanent position.

Wage: C$17.75 per hour
