Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes following established recipes and quality standards.
  • Plan menus, determine food portions, and estimate ingredient requirements.
  • Ensure all food is prepared safely, hygienically, and in compliance with food handling regulations.
  • Schedule and coordinate kitchen activities with other staff to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Train and guide kitchen helpers or junior cooks in food preparation and proper handling.
  • Maintain inventory of food supplies, check deliveries for quality, and store ingredients properly.
  • Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure consistency and prevent food waste.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
  • Modify recipes or menu items to accommodate dietary restrictions or customer preferences when required.
  • Assist in supervising kitchen operations and ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
