Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate is required.
• Seven months to less than one year of relevant cooking experience.
• Food Safety Certificate preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Determine appropriate food portion sizes and related costs.
• Plan menus and estimate the food requirements for their preparation.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
• Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes.
• Prepare suitable dishes for customers with food allergies or food intolerances.
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas.
• Train staff in food preparation, cooking and safe food-handling procedures.
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
• Clean kitchen and work areas.
• Manage kitchen operations.
