Job summary

SSP Canada, operating at Billy Bishop Airport, is seeking a Line Cook to prepare dishes, receive orders, and maintain kitchen setup for efficient shifts. You will follow recipes, arrange ingredients, and ensure timely service for guests in a high-traffic airport environment.

We offer competitive hourly pay ($22.19/hour), an employee meal plan, EAP and a comprehensive benefits program. This role requires airport security clearance and legal authorization to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a food service environment.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Verbal and written communication is essential.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• Food handlers permit required.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.
• Ability to obtain Transport Canada security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes, checks portions, garnishes, and presents dishes.
• Unloads, organises, and stores delivered products properly.
• Maintains equipment and machines in good working order.
• Completes opening and closing procedures.
• Tidies up work area and storage areas, including refrigerators and freezers.
• Carries out general hygienecleaning per manager instructions to meet hygiene standards.

Here are a few things you can expect as a Line Cook with SSP Canada:

• - Follows the recipes, checks the portion of the recipes, the garnishes and present the dishes ordered.
• - Help unload, organize, and put delivered products away in the appropriate storage areas.
• - Ensures regular maintenance, cleaning and proper functioning of assigned equipment and machines.
• - Completes opening / closing procedures
• - Put all the utensils used during the shift in its place, clean and tidy up its work place as well as the storage areas (includes refrigerators, freezers), empty, clean and store the bins.
• - Practice general and specific cleanings using the appropriate products as indicated by the manager in order to meet hygiene standards.
