Job summary

Explore Edmonton’s Edmonton Convention Centre is hiring a Chef De Partie to lead and mentor the culinary team, ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations and high-quality food preparation.

You will work under guidance from Red Seal and award-winning chefs, develop menus, and contribute to vibrant events and meetings throughout Edmonton. A competitive compensation package and strong benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or banquet operations.
  • Culinary or hospitality management degree is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food and observe methods of preparation: feel, taste, smell, color, texture, garnishes.
  • Develop, implement, and execute menus.
  • Ensure mise en place is ready for the next day.
  • Maintain organization, timeliness, and delivery of all food.
  • Provide direction and assistance to the team of cooks.
  • Act as a role model to department members.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Establish good working relationships with other departments.

About the Position

The Edmonton Convention Centre is seeking a Chef De Partieto join the team! As a CDP, you will lead and mentor members of the culinary team, ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly on a day-to-day basis. Your passion for culinary excellence, leadership skills, and attention to detail will be vital to this role.

What You bring:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or banquet operational experience.
  • A degree in culinary or hospitality management is considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Being comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superb verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-developed sense of taste and smell.
