- Review menus, prepare food following standardized recipes and production sheets.
- Assist the Food Services Manager in their responsibilities in their absence.
- Monitor the quality and quantity of food supplies; recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Coach Dietary Aides in basic food preparation and serving activities; handle routine departmental operations in the absence of the Food Services Manager, including staff replacements and equipment issues.
- Maintain required records and collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs.

Qualifications
- Must meet one of the following:
- Chef training or culinary management certificate/diploma from a recognized program;
- Certificate of qualification as a Cook issued by an authorized body;
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in food and nutrition.
Additional Qualifications
- Red Seal Cook Trade Certification (preferred)
- Experience in institutional large quantity cooking (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lead in a busy environment
- Current Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
