Job summary

Houle is hiring a Controls Service Technician to support our Burnaby or Victoria offices. You will develop system designs, program and commission building automation control systems, and collaborate with project managers and field staff.

Requirements include 3+ years in HVAC design and 2 years on-site commissioning, plus experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks and networking. English fluency is essential; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years direct experience designing and programming HVAC systems.
• 2 years' experience in onsite commissioning of HVAC control systems.
• Experience with MS-Visio/MS-Office & mechanical design tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience with networking, setting up Windows Server, configuring routers and switches.
• Knowledge of control system design, programming, and electrical control wiring methods.
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree/Diploma.
• Working knowledge of Reliable Control and/or Schneider EcoStruxure is an asset.
• Well organized team player with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Able to speak, read and write English fluently.

About this role

We are recruiting for a Controls Service Technician to join our Burnaby or Victoria office. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

In this role, you will work with project managers, design team & field staff to develop system designs, including producing shop drawings, programming, graphics and commissioning building automation control systems.

Your responsibilities

• Engineering, programming, designing, and commissioning of building automation systems
• Integrating various systems such as chillers, boilers, and lighting panels
• Data acquisition
• Handle calibration of temperature and humidity sensors
• Train building operators
• Select and size control equipment to meet project requirements

Your experience and skills

Salary range: $55,000-$90,000 per year plus a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will commensurate with experience, skills and overall match to the position offered. Let's chat throughout the hiring process and determine the best fit.
