Job summary

Cardinal Couriers Ltd. in Mississauga, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, compliance, and accounting operations across the organization.

You will report to the Director of Finance, develop and mentor the accounting team, strengthen internal controls, and provide strategic financial insights to drive business performance. The role is office-based, overseeing multi‑company consolidation and requires a CPA and 10+

Qualifications

• CPA designation and a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.
• Experience leading and developing accounting teams.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Great Plains and/or Microsoft Business Central).

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, audits, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
• Monitor banking relationships, covenant reporting, and key performance metrics.
• Strengthen internal controls and continuously improve accounting systems and processes.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff while supporting organizational growth.

Cardinal is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, compliance, and accounting operations across multiple companies. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in providing financial insights, managing risk, supporting strategic decision-making, and leading a high-performing accounting team.

What You'll Do
