Job summary

TF Energy Solutions in Calgary is seeking an experienced Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and finance functions, oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, and partner with operations to drive financial performance.

The successful candidate will have a CPA designation, a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, 5+ years in accounting/finance, and proven leadership of a team; you will manage budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience is required.
• Previous experience leading or managing an accounting or finance team is required.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls is required.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day accounting and finance functions for the business.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Coordinate external audits and tax reporting.
• Develop and improve financial reporting and business processes.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Lead, coach, and mentor members of the accounting team; identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and drive continuous improvement.
