Workland is seeking a Financial Controller to build a growth-focused finance function for a fast-growing Quebec company serving thousands of clients.

You will report to senior management, drive strategic forecasting, oversee accounting, and ensure ASPE compliance while enabling acquisitions and innovation initiatives. Advanced French and functional English are valuable in this bilingual environment.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree with CPA designation.
• 5+ years in accounting.
• Strong grasp of Canadian accounting standards.
• Leadership and communication skills.
• Advanced French; functional English (bilingualism an asset).

Responsibilities

• Participate in acquisition and innovation projects.
• Turn forecasts and financial analysis into concrete recommendations for leadership.
• Work with outside experts (tax, IT, innovation) on strategic projects.
• Oversee the full accounting function — accounts receivable and payable, general ledger, payroll.
• Lead monthly and annual closings.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Strategy and growth

• Take part in the company's acquisition and innovation projects.

Financial and accounting management

• Oversee the full accounting function — accounts receivable and payable, general ledger, payroll.
• Deliver reliable, on-time financial statements in accordance with ASPE standards.
• Lead monthly and annual closings.

Governance and continuous improvement

• Put in place the internal controls and policies that protect the company.
• Ensure compliance with federal and provincial financial requirements.
• Spot efficiency gains — inventory, automation, workflow.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Accounting degree + CPA designation.
• 5+ years in accounting (public practice experience an asset).
• Strong grasp of Canadian accounting standards.
• Leadership, communication, and problem-solving instincts.
• Advanced French; functional English (bilingualism an asset).
