Job summary

TEEMA is seeking Construction Officers in Prince George, BC to oversee construction activities for BC Hydro's major projects, including transmission, substation, and hydroelectric facilities.

The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of construction experience and a diploma in technology relevant to the role. Responsibilities include supervising contractors, conducting inspections, and ensuring project safety and compliance with BC Hydro standards.

This position is contract-based for 12 months with potential extensions and requires a valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Qualifications

TEEMA is supporting BC Hydro in the search for Construction Officers to support major transmission, substation, and hydroelectric projects across Northern BC.

This role will act as BC Hydro's on-site representative, overseeing construction activities, coordinating contractors, inspecting work, supporting contract administration, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to BC Hydro standards.

Requirements

• Diploma of Technology (Civil/Structural or Electrical) or equivalent related education/trades background
• 7+ years of construction experience
• Strong knowledge of substations, transmission lines, hydro facilities, or utility infrastructure projects
• Experience with construction inspections, contractor coordination, and contract administration
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand testing, surveying, planning, and costing requirements
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of safety regulations and construction practices
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with clean driver's abstract
