Job summary

Canstar Restorations is seeking a Contents Field Processing Technician to restore customers' belongings after fire or flood, directly on-site in homes or commercial spaces. You will carefully clean, deodorize, disinfect, re-pack, and store items until they can be returned to their owners.

Travel between branches is required, with flexibility for overtime, evenings, and weekends. A valid driver’s license and physical stamina are essential to perform the job safely and effectively.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and strong communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with safety in mind.
• Physical ability to bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Identify items that can be restored vs. lost.
• Pack and transport items to processing warehouse.
• Return items to dwellings after restoration is complete.
• Be on site to clean, disinfect, and restore contents.
• Work with a team in a safe, clean environment.
• Follow procedures for cleaning structures and contents.

Position Overview

As a Contents Field Processing Technician, you will be making a difference in people’s lives by restoring their belongings after they have been damaged by a fire or flood. You will be restoring damaged property directly on site in peoples homes, or commercial buildings. This position is trusted to handle our customers’ possessions with care as they clean, deodorize, disinfect, protect, re-pack and store them until they can be taken back to their newly restored homes.

Duties and Responsibilities

Contents

• Identify which items are able to be restored and which ones are a loss
• Pack up items to be transported to the processing warehouse
• When the home or building is restored, return the items and put furniture back in place
• Be on site in a customers home to clean, disinfect, and restore contents
• Work with a motivated team in a safe and clean work environment
• Pack up contents with protection and care to avoid damage
• Follow procedures for cleaning structures and contents, and handling customers’ possessions
• Thoroughly clean smoke residue form contents and structures
• Provide post construction cleaning to prepare a house for occupancy
• Work with a motivated team to ensure a safe work environment

Health and Safety

• Ensure that self and others adhere to Canstar's health and safety practices and procedures
• Ensure good housekeeping is kept to perform work safely and efficiently
• Understand safety policies and protocols
• Ensure that self and others on site are wearing all required PPE, when required

• Must have a valid driver's license
• The physical ability to bend, reach, lift 50lbs safely and repeatedly and stand throughout your shift
• A great attitude and a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and serve our customers - we have a fun and hard-working team and are looking for someone with the skills to compliment them
• A clean criminal record is required

Working Conditions:

• Travel within branches and client location is required
• Must be flexible to work overtime, evenings, and weekends on occasion.
