Job summary

First Onsite Property Restoration is seeking a Contents Technician I to assist in recovering belongings after fire, water, or other damage. You’ll learn restoration tools and techniques while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, team‑driven environment.

You’ll work closely with teammates to sort, clean, and protect items, maintain safety, and document activities. No prior experience? entry-level training provided, with growth into certifications and advanced duties across Canada.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in restoration, emergency services, or a related field.
  • High attention to detail with strong organization and teamwork skills.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning techniques for water, fire, and mold restoration.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE in varying environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using mobile devices and apps.
  • Ability to obtain industry certifications such as Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT), Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT), or Odor Control Technician (OCT).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract.
  • Must be able to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Ability to complete work activities which may include physical labour, material handling and lifting, climbing ladders, wearing a respirator, and working in tight spaces (attics, basements, and crawlspaces).

As a Contents Technician (Internally known as Contents Technician I), you'll be part of a team that helps people recover their belongings after fire, water, or other damage. You'll learn the tools and techniques of restoration while gaining hands‑on experience in a fast-paced, team-focused environment where every task makes a difference.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONTENTS TECHNICIAN

As a Contents Technician, every day brings something new. One morning you might be carefully packing a family's keepsakes after a small kitchen fire, and the next, restoring items damaged by water or smoke. You work side by side with your teammates, sorting, cleaning, and organizing contents with precision and pride. You use specialized equipment, follow restoration techniques, and learn new skills that help bring belongings back to life. You keep detailed records, maintain clean work areas, and take safety seriously while staying focused and efficient. Whether you're cleaning, lifting, loading, or learning, you know your work helps people get back on their feet. Your energy, teamwork, and care make a real impact for every customer you help.
