Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the full-time Carpenter/Labourer position at our Homes by Lake Country Co-op site in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The role supports on-site construction activities under a Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter and offers hands-on learning in a team-oriented environment.

Ideal candidates will have a Carpentry certificate (or Journeyperson status), knowledge of safety rules, the ability to read basic blueprints, and the willingness to obtain safety tickets.

Qualifications

  • Carpentry certificate or Journeyperson status is preferred.
  • Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (Occupational Health & Safety).
  • Able to read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings with guidance.
  • Well organized and able to work independently and with supervision.
  • Willing to obtain safety tickets: First Aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift, Telehandler.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lake Country Co-operative’s safety principles and customer-focused service.
  • Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels.
  • Assist skilled trades in construction activities at residential, commercial, and agricultural sites.
  • Load and unload materials; move materials to work areas.
  • Assist with erecting and dismantling forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, and barricades.
  • Operate and maintain power tools; tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction such as mixers, compressors, and pumps.
  • Remove rubble and debris at job sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment.
  • Support Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job description

Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of full-time Carpenter/Labourer at our Homes by Lake Country Co-op site in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. We are looking for energetic and motivated Carpenters, 1st, 2nd, 3rd year or equivalent, with experience in construction carpentry and experience on a construction site to work under a Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter. This role is ideal for someone starting their career in carpentry and eager to learn from experienced professionals in a hands‑on environment.

Reporting to the Site Team Leader, responsibilities for this position include the following:
  • Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach.
  • Provide Legendary Service at all touch points through various communication channels.
  • Assist skilled trades persons in performing construction activities at residential, commercial, and agricultural construction sites.
  • Load and unload materials, move materials to work areas.
  • Assist with erecting and dismantling of forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, and barricades.

  • Carpentry certificate or any of the levels of carpentry technical/apprenticeship process, provincial Journeyperson status is an asset.
  • Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (Occupational Health & Safety).
  • Able to read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings (with guidance).
  • Well organized and able to work independently and with supervision.
  • Honesty and trustworthy, are results-oriented, attentive to detail and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • Knowledge of methods, tools and equipment used in carpentry.
  • Willing and able to obtain the required safety tickets: First Aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift, and Telehandler certification.
  • Ability to fulfil physical job requirements typical to the construction industry. Including the ability to lift, hold, and carry heavy weight.
  • Flexible work schedule including weekends.
  • Available for intermittent day and overnight travel when required.
