Arbutus Properties is seeking a Skilled Labourer/Carpenter to support construction of commercial and residential projects in the Saskatoon region. The role focuses on carpentry, framing and quality control while maintaining safety and building code compliance.

The incumbent will perform frame and finish carpentry, oversee subtrade work, mentor junior workers and ensure timely, high-quality completion of tasks on site. A strong work ethic and reliable transportation are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in residential framing.
• Enrollment in Carpentry apprenticeship program as a 3rd or 4th year or completion of Journeyman Carpentry.
• Experience in finish carpentry is an asset.
• Equipment operation experience is an asset (zoom boom / skid steer).
• Knowledge of building code and safety code requirements.
• Be organized, interpersonal and strong communicator with the ability to build excellent relationships with subtrades and workers on site.
• Candidate must have excellent time management skills, have the ability to prioritize work and be results driven.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong understanding of quality standards.
• Highly organized, results-oriented and able to work in a multi-functional team environment.
• Must have own vehicle and valid driver's license.

• Carpentry work that falls outside of the scope of work of subtrades.
• Oversight of subtrade work.
• Perform touch ups and repairs on subtrade deficiencies.
• Perform frame checks and mechanical checks.

• Quality management inspections and reporting.
• Report issues as they arise to the superintendent.
• Proficient knowledge and use of power tools such as air nailers, skill saw, screw gun.
• Mentor novice workers.
• Other tasks as required by the site foreman / site superintendent.

Summary

Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Skilled Labourer/ Carpenter selected will be responsible for the completion of carpentry work and quality management, ensuring the compliance with local building code and company safety policy. The Skilled Labourer/ Carpenter is also responsible for general site maintenance and clean-up as needed.
