Job summary

Onni Group of Companies is seeking a Health & Safety lead for a Port Coquitlam high-rise project. You will champion safety, perform site inspections, and assist the superintendent with labor tasks while ensuring First Aid readiness.

You will organize areas, manage daily duties, provide visitor safety orientations, and report injuries or hazards. The role emphasizes communication, reliability, and hands-on site involvement.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience on construction sites.
• OFA2 or OFA3 certification required.
• Fall protection certification required or willing to obtain.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Physically capable to perform onsite work.

Responsibilities

• Open and close a construction site.
• Perform manual labour (clean up, sweeping, packing materials).
• Organize work areas and general site maintenance.
• Conduct daily safety site inspections.
• Provide safety orientations for visitors to the site.
• Attend injuries and report hazards on site.
• Weekly and monthly reporting.
• Inventory control of the first aid station.
• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents.

Are you a veteran of the construction site and champion of safety? Onni Contracting is looking for an individual who will provide health and safety leadership and promote a culture of health and safety commitment to our site. We are looking for an ambitious, organized, individual with an above-standard attention to detail to see perfectly executed finishes.

This position will be responsible for working on construction project sites, assisting the Superintendent with labour work and fulfilling First Aid and Safety requirements for a high-rise development project for the upcoming project in Port Coquitlam, Freemont.

What You Will Do

• Opening and closing a site


• Perform any manual labour (clean up, sweeping, packing materials, etc.)


• Organize areas

• All other duties assigned by Project Managers/Site Superintendents


• Daily safety site inspections


• Weekly/monthly reporting

• Attending to any injuries on-site and providing appropriate treatment


• Reporting any injuries, near misses or hazards on site


• Provide inventory control of the first aid station and supplies


• All other duties as assigned

What You Bring

• 2-years’ experience on construction sites


• Current OFA2 or OFA3 Certification


• Valid Fall Protection Certification or willingness to get

Salary Range

$30 - $35/hr
