Job summary

Altis Technology in Ottawa is seeking a hands-on Bookkeeper to own key financial processes for active projects. This permanent role supports project billing, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end reporting in a collaborative, growth-minded team.

You will work with a small accounting group and CFO, gaining stability, exposure to construction project accounting, and room to advance into senior accounting roles over time.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, preferably in construction.
• Strong knowledge of progress billing and holdbacks.
• Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Excel; Jonas/Sage/QuickBooks an asset.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable and receivable, including progress billing, holdbacks, and subcontractor payments.
• Prepare and process client invoices, collections, and intercompany transactions.
• Track job costs and monitor project budgets.
• Prepare monthly financial statements: income statements, balance sheets, cash flow.
• Reconcile credit card statements, verify tax accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized financial records for audits, filings, and reviews.
