Job summary

David Aplin Recruiting seeks an HR Advisor for a well-established construction industry client in Mississauga, ON. The role is hands-on, partnering with leaders and employees to provide practical HR guidance across employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation, and other HR initiatives.

The position offers a base salary of $100K-$130K with discretionary bonus/profit-sharing, comprehensive benefits, and a pension plan.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of dedicated HR Advisor-level experience from a complex and large organization.
• Strong employee relations and leader coaching experience.
• Experience independently managing workplace issues and difficult employee situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR advice and coaching to leaders and employees on a variety of workplace matters
• Support employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, and workplace investigations
• Coach leaders through challenging employee situations and difficult conversations
• Provide guidance on HR policies, employment standards, and best practices
• Support recruitment activities and relationships with internal and external recruitment partners
• Coach leaders on behavioural interviewing and candidate evaluation
• Support onboarding, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle activities
• Participate in compensation and performance management processes
• Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and respond to ad hoc HR requests
• Support employee engagement, retention, and talent development initiatives
• Partner with broader HR teams to implement programs and initiatives
• Provide occasional HR training and refresher sessions as required
• Build strong, trusted relationships with leaders and employees across the organization
