Job summary

Orion Group in Mississauga, Canada, is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead construction accounting and job costing. You will collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate billing, percent-of-completion reporting, budgets, and WIP entries, while strengthening internal controls and preparing monthly variance analyses.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction accounting, a bachelor's in accounting, and CPA/MBA preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Professional Certification (MBA, CPA, CMA) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly job cost and percentage-of-completion schedules.
• Ensure accurate subcontractor/vendor billings and lien waivers.
• Review trial balance for month-end closing and variance analysis.
• Assist audits and maintain internal controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting

MBA / CPA / CMA (preferred)
