Placements24 is seeking a skilled Construction Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of heavy machinery in Kimberley. The role focuses on diagnosing issues, performing routine maintenance, and executing complex repairs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and power trains, with a valid driver's license and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Mechanic specializing in heavy construction equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and power trains.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, service manuals, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work independently and meet repair deadlines with safety focus.
  • Valid driver's license; ASE certification highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and cranes.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment.
  • Execute complex repairs and overhauls to manufacturer specs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Respond to field breakdowns and perform repairs to restore functionality promptly.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair their fleet of heavy machinery in Kimberley . This role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of all construction equipment used on various project sites. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing routine maintenance, and executing complex repairs to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency. This is a hands-on position for a mechanic with a strong background in heavy equipment repair and a commitment to quality workmanship in the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and cranes.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Execute complex repairs and overhauls, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer specifications.
