Job summary

Hypertec Group is seeking an Accounting Technician to join our Construction team in Montreal. You’ll process invoices, manage GL entries, and support month-end close while collaborating with project teams. A degree in accounting/finance and 2–5 years of experience are required; SAP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience in the construction industry is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices with supporting documentation.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and investigate discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Project Controllers, and Project Managers to resolve invoice issues.
• Prepare customer invoices, progress billings, and credit memos as required.
• Apply customer payments and assist with monitoring outstanding receivables.
• Process journal entries and maintain general ledger records.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and prepaid expenses.
• Maintain project cost records and ensure correct coding.
• Support WIP reporting with accurate accounting information.
• Maintain organized electronic documentation for audit/compliance.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
