Job summary

ALSTOM Gruppe in Canada is seeking a Conductor to ensure safety, punctuality and high-quality service for the public and passengers. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday with a 12-hour day at an hourly rate of $54.95/h.

You will work in enclosed locomotive, perform boarding assistance, handle customer service issues, coordinate with host railways, and report defects to maintenance. English communication is required; CROR certification and a valid driver’s license are mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Current/valid CROR certification mandatory
  • Formal training or experience in customer service
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Exposure to the railway industry will be considered as a definite asset

Responsibilities

  • Assisting and informing passengers with boarding and disembarking
  • Attending to, resolving and escalating customer service issues
  • Interfacing regularly with host railway's rail traffic control centers
  • Relaying information to the maintenance staff on defects

Your future role

Since yourfocus as aConductoris on safety, punctuality, and efficiency, you areaccountable in ensuring that train movements are operated in a manner that will provide safe and on-time operations consistent with the objective of providing the highest quality service to the public and your passengers.

This is a full-time position (operating Monday to Friday - 12h day) with an hourly rate of $54.95/h.

Be prepared to work in an enclosed confined area (locomotive), climbing, lifting, walking and working outside in inclement weather. Therefore, you have to be able to maintain a required level of fitness as outlined in the Canadian Railway Medical Rules Handbook.

While interacting daily with passengers, co-workers, external suppliers and management, all activities are to be performed in accordance withall rules and regulationsas prescribed by legislation and ALSTOM Health & Safety policiesas well as local regulations of the host railways over which the train is being operated.

You’ll specifically take care of
