Job summary

Alstom in Montreal is seeking a seasoned technical specialist to act as the primary authority in your domain. You will guide cross-functional teams, validate complex solutions, and ensure alignment with standards and operational needs.

You will contribute to continuous improvement, document best practices, and drive innovations in predictive maintenance and lifecycle optimization. This on-site role offers growth in a global engineering-driven organisation.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a specialized technical role.
  • Deep expertise in rail systems, signaling, traction, infrastructure, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of industrial processes, maintenance, and operations.
  • Experience in technical support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Fluent in English; French is an asset depending on context.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical authority in your domain.
  • Provide in-depth technical analysis and recommend solutions.
  • Support project teams in the definition, validation, and implementation of technical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead or support the resolution of complex technical issues, particularly during operation and maintenance phases.
  • Contribute to obsolescence management and proposing sustainable alternatives.
  • Develop, maintaining, and improving technical documentation, standards, and best practices.
  • Deliver knowledge transfer through training, coaching, and technical support.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align technical solutions with operational needs.
  • Driving innovation by proposing technical and digital improvements (e.g., predictive maintenance, lifecycle cost optimization).
  • Identifying technical risks and defining mitigation strategies.

Your future role:

Take on a new challenge and leverage your deep technical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You will work with passionate, collaborative, and innovative teams, playing a key role as the primary technical authority (Subject Matter Expert) within your area of specialization.

On a daily basis, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, and customer support. You will be responsible for providing expert technical guidance, validating complex solutions, and ensuring effective knowledge sharing across the organization.

You will contribute actively to solving critical issues, improving system performance, and supporting strategic technical decision-making.

We'll look to you for:

Your profile

  • Strong understanding of industrial processes, maintenance, and operations
  • Experience in technical support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to interpret engineering documentation
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Solution-oriented and innovative mindset
  • High level of autonomy and accountability
  • Proficiency with relevant technical and digital tools (ERP systems, engineering tools, etc.)
  • Fluent in English (French is an asset depending on context)
