Job summary

Autism Services in Regina, Canada is seeking a concrete worker to perform formwork setup, concrete placement and finishing, sealing and waterproofing, and surface restoration on multiple projects.

The role requires working at heights and reading blueprints, with on-the-job training and opportunities to engage in youth employment programs. Parking is available at no cost for on-site staff, and mentorship is provided to new hires.

Qualifications

• Experience with formwork, concrete placement and finishing is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, maps and drawings.
• Ability to work at heights and use hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Check formwork, granular base and reinforcement materials.
• Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured concrete.
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specifications.
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
• Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces.
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
