Job summary

AJF Forming LTD in Toronto, ON is seeking a concrete finisher with 7 months to under 1 year of experience. The role requires on-site work at heights, in dusty and hot environments, and the ability to read blueprints and specifications.

You will place concrete into forms, finish surfaces, and ensure quality according to grade. You must bring safety footwear and physical stamina, be dependable and a team player, and adapt to demanding outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred: 7 months to less than 1 year in concrete forming or related work.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials.
• Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification.
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
