Job summary

Autism Services is seeking a construction-site support role in Canada. The position involves handling materials, assisting with rigging, reading blueprints, and performing routine maintenance while contributing to a safe work environment.

You will participate in site preparation and coordination, including crane upkeep, formwork, and traffic guidance near sites, with additional on-the-job training opportunities for youth.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and transport construction materials.
• Measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
• Perform pre-operational inspection of equipment.
• Read blueprints to determine work requirements.
• Clean and lubricate cranes.
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades.
• Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications.
• Clean and pile salvaged materials.
• Perform routine maintenance work.
• Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites.
• Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
