Job summary

Autism Services is seeking a skilled construction professional to perform concrete placement, finishing, and surface repair on various structures in Canada. You will read blueprints, operate power vibrators, and level surfaces to specified grades, while working at heights on scaffolding and using hand and power tools to achieve the desired finish.

The role includes installing fixtures and waterproofing surfaces, with on-the-job training tailored to youth in the program.

Responsibilities

• Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures
• Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
