Job summary

CMI Concierge & Security in Greater Vancouver is seeking a dedicated Concierge/Security Guard to coordinate with property owners, residents, management, and tradespeople while delivering front-desk services and enforcing safety. The role blends administrative tasks, customer service, and security duties on a single site.

You will monitor security systems, perform patrols, and respond to incidents, with rotating 12-hour shifts and a schedule that includes Monday to Friday coverage.

Qualifications

• Customer-first attitude with ability to handle inquiries.

• Physical stamina for long shifts and standing.
• Security awareness and ability to follow safety protocols.
• Mandarin/Cantonese language skills are an asset, as is a valid BC Security License (asset).

Position Summary

The Concierge/Security Guard will act as the main liaison between property owners, residents, management, and tradespeople. In addition to handling concierge duties, this role ensures the security, safety, and overall well-being of the property. The position includes a mix of administrative tasks, customer service, security measures, and emergency response coordination.

Greater Vancouver

Schedule

Varying schedules, Monday to Friday, as well as rotational 12-hour shifts covering Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Pay Rate

$19-20 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Customer Service

• Greet residents and visitors, addressing inquiries and providing assistance.


• Assist with administrative duties such as maintaining records and managing communication.


• Serve as a point of contact for residents and manage requests in a professional and friendly manner.

Security & Safety

• Monitor security systems, conduct routine patrols, and respond to security incidents.


• Ensure safety protocols are followed for all individuals on the property.


• Handle access control and provide security escorts when necessary.

Emergency Response Coordination

• Respond quickly to emergencies, ensuring proper coordination with relevant authorities.


• Assist in the implementation of emergency plans and procedures, ensuring residents' safety.

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally.


• Capable of climbing a ladder (up to 8 feet) and navigating building stairs.


• Physical endurance for standing, walking, sitting, and repetitive motions.


• Strong visual accuracy, hearing ability, and listening skills.


• Ability to complete 12-hour shifts with regular statutory breaks.


• Proficient in using mobile phones, mobile applications, email, and Microsoft Word.

Experience and Skills

• Excellent customer-first attitude with the ability to handle difficult situations.


• Positive, friendly, and professional demeanor.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Capable of training and mentoring staff from diverse backgrounds.


• Highly organized and attentive to detail.


• Speaking Mandarin/Cantonese is an asset.


• Valid BC Security License is an asset. Must obtain a valid BC Security License within 3 months of employment.


• Varying schedules, Monday to Friday, as well as rotational 12-hour shifts covering Friday, Saturday and Sunday. /Chinese speaking is an asset.
