The Role
We're looking for reliable, professional security guards who take pride in customer service. You'll often be the first person a tenant, shopper, visitor, or contractor meets, so how you greet, help, and guide people matters as much as how you protect the property. Depending on your site, you may work a front desk or concierge post in a commercial tower, patrol a busy shopping centre, or manage access at a multi-tenant property.
In our interview process, we'll get to know you and your experience, and determine which site is the best fit for your skills and experience!
Pay, Benefits & Growth
- Pay rate dependent on site assignment. You'll start at your site's starting rate, with the opportunity to move up based on reliability and performance
- Health and dental benefits for full-time employees working 32 or more hours per week
- Opportunities to grow, with training, mentorship, and promotion from within, including through our Supervisor Development Program
- Full-time, part-time, and casual positions, with day, afternoon, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
- A supportive team that recognizes initiative, reliability, and results
What You'll Do
- Greet and assist tenants, visitors, shoppers, and contractors in a professional, friendly, and calm manner
- Control access using key card and fob systems, visitor sign-in, ID checks, and pass issuance
- Keep restricted areas, such as construction zones, mechanical rooms, and tenant spaces, limited to authorized people
- Verify contractors against approved lists and confirm ID and work orders or permits before granting entry
- Conduct indoor and outdoor foot patrols, monitor CCTV, and respond to alarms
- Enforce property rules fairly and with tact, and handle trespassers safely and respectfully
- De-escalate conflicts and respond to tenant or customer concerns, resolving or escalating as needed
- Respond to medical emergencies with First Aid, CPR, or AED until emergency services arrive, and assist police and emergency services
- Keep a detailed memo book, write clear incident and occurrence reports, and follow site-specific procedures
What You Bring
- Valid British Columbia Security Worker Licence
- Valid Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 certificate (or willing to obtain before starting)
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- A proven record of reliability and punctuality
- A customer-service mindset and a positive, professional attitude
- Strong spoken and written English, including report writing
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the assigned post, which may include standing, walking, and foot patrols during 8–12 hour shifts, with or without accommodation
- Calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and comfortable working alone or as part of a team
- Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
Nice to Have
- Previous security experience (1+ year preferred)
- Experience in a commercial office tower or multi-tenant building
- Concierge, front desk, or hospitality experience
- Loss prevention or retail security experience
- Leadership or supervisory experience
We thank all applicants; only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
