Job summary

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) at AgeCare provides professional nursing care to residents in collaboration with the health care team, following required medical care and professional nursing practice. • Geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing background.
• Knowledge of applicable acts, regulations and nursing standards.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the RN to implement policies and procedures.
• Liaise with physicians and the health care team for resident care.
• Notify physician of significant changes when RN is unavailable.
• Provide direction to Personal Support Workers on the care team.
• Participate in shift reports to communicate resident status changes.
