The City of Kingston is seeking a Personal Support Worker for Rideaucrest Home, a regular part-time role (up to 4). Under supervision, you will support residents with daily needs and participate in care planning, aiming to promote dignity, comfort, and quality of life in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include hygiene support, nutrition monitoring, safe transfers, documentation, and teamwork with clinical staff. A PSW program completion and one year of customer service are required.

Competenze

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent education is required.
• Successful completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker program.
• One year of customer service experience is required.

Mansioni

• Assist and support residents to meet essential, behavioral, emotional, spiritual and physical needs.
• Promote restorative care in activities of daily living to maximize quality of life.
• Maintain personal hygiene standards for residents including bathing, hair, nails and skin.
• Monitor meals and document relevant information; assist with safety and comfort.
• Lift, transfer and transport residents using proper techniques and equipment.
• Collaborate with care team to implement care plans and information exchange.
• Encourage independence in daily living activities and resident participation.
• Observe residents and report incidents or changes promptly.
• Use care plans and assignment sheets to plan care with knowledge of individual needs.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation; perform other duties as assigned.
