Job summary

Elder Catherine Charles Long-term Care Home is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Worker to join a 24/7 facility caring for residents. You will support daily living activities, assist with meals, and help manage medications in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the care team, following the care plan, and providing respectful, patient-centered assistance to residents and families.

Qualifications

• Must have Continuing Care Aide Certificate and Grade 12 or equivalent.
• First Aid/CPR and Safe Food Handling certificates required or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work independently and with Elder Home team; strong organizational skills.
• Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care following the approved care plan and assist with daily living.
• Support residents during appointments and outings.
• Administer prescribed medications.
• Maintain hygiene, grooming, dressing and mobility assistance.
• Maintain sanitation and assist with meals on 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Collaborate with the care team to plan daily activities.
