Job summary

Children's Health Foundation Vancouver Island is opening Jesse’s House in Nanaimo and seeks a House Manager to lead day-to-day operations, guest care, and team supervision. The role focuses on creating a welcoming, safe home-away-from-home for families with children receiving health care, guiding staff and volunteers, and preserving a compassionate environment.

Reporting to the Director of Family Programs & Impact, you will manage house functions, coordinate budgets, maintenance, and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience (social services, tourism/ hospitality, operations).
• At least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• High school diploma; college/university study in related field desired.
• Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with organizational skills.
• Leadership experience with small teams and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day house operations and budgeting in collaboration with leadership.
• Coordinate guest bookings, orientation, and room assignments.
• Lead House Coordinators, supervise staff and volunteers, and support staff development.
• Maintain safety, security, and privacy of guests and staff; follow emergency protocols.
• Manage maintenance, inventory, and vendor relations to ensure a welcoming space.
• Prepare reports, track expenses, and participate in policy updates.
