Job summary

Bayshore Home Health – Complex Care Branch in Madoc, ON is seeking a highly skilled Personal Caregiver to join our team. You will deliver compassionate home care, support clients in daily living, and help maintain safety and comfort in the client’s own home.

The role requires completion of accredited caregiver training or equivalent experience; English communication; ability to lift; and a commitment to infection control and client dignity.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal, accredited caregiver training program and/or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of the principles of caregiving as well as customer service.
• Able to communicate in spoken and written English; French proficiency will be deemed an asset.
• Provide high-quality care services to clients with current knowledge of practices for community care.
• Physically assist clients with movement and/or repositioning; able to lift 23 kgs., squat, bend, stand and reach.
• Reliable mode of transportation; driver's license and automobile considered as an asset.
• Able to produce a clear Criminal background check with Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive homemaking services, including cleaning, cooking, laundry, and general household management.
• Offer companionship and accompany clients to community activities and events.
• Administer personal care services in accordance with the care plan directives.
• Ensure the emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort and safety of clients to the highest possible standard.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, tailored to meet their specific needs.
• Perform specialized procedures for clients where training has been provided while demonstrating current competency.
• Observe and document client conditions and report changes to Supervisor/Office.
• Implement and adhere to infection prevention practices.
